Nice pun. Obviously, those will have to wait for the 2016 season thread. At least it is better than for the Phillies fans who won't. Be getting any leeway at all.
Much to discussion before then, though like pace of play. Have to say, though not fully enforced yet, that I like that batters can't step out of the box. The flow of the game, In the pre-season games I've watched so far, is much better.

I'm a big fan of any pace of play improvement/focus, and like that Manfred is not holding anything sacred in the early days of his tenure.
Next up I think should be banning mound visits altogether except for a pitching change or injury (yes, I realize the latter opens up to some potential fuckery). With all the signals used, there's not a case to be made (to me, anyways) for the catcher running out to give his starter a pat on the back and the entire infield rolls in.
Not sure a pitching clock would ever happen but something there wouldn't hurt either when the Ubaldo Jiminez types want to shake off five different signals.

Well the Jays have gone all in. I like it, it's ballsy but it needed to be done.
Those 13 games against the Yanks down the stretch are huge.

just, wow. Go big or go home eh? But with all the deals they only get one starting pitcher, albeit an ace.
Personally, I don't like giving up blue chip prospects for rentals, but I can see the managements' need to break the playoff drought.
I'm just hoping they didn't give up too much on the Revere trade.

Yup, how 'bout them Jays? Today's game in progress is the first of, I believe, 13 dates against the Yanks. That's pretty much the whole outcome of the season right there IMO. I think the Jays can catch Minny without too much trouble, but the thought that they might catch the Yanks is very possible. Mr. Smoak is helping things out with the long ball today, for which he has my respect and gratitude. I'll go back to planning the parade now ...

It wasn't because I was sweating anything, let's be real here. The Jays have been sent back to the kids table with a road heavy schedule (where they frankly suck) while the Yanks will dine on a steady diet of home games against a lesser schedule with Pineda back on the horizon.
My recommendation? Get to eBay quick with those "Blue Jays 2015 Divisional Leaders" throwbacks.
3 in the loss column. And counting. 3...one for each day the Jays lead the division.
P.S. Who/what is "browcity"?

Oh muffin, how wrong you are (incidentally, hilarious you're talking of limber tale when you've been scarce until recently, sunshine). Your little band of bandwagoners (honestly, the worst fans there are) keeps winning but know what? So do those plucky little underdog Yanks. Mix in that their remaining games are virtually flipped between home and away (Yanks have 18 home, Jays 12; Yanks 12 on road, Jays 17). And unlike the Jays, the Yanks are actually good on the road (37-26 vs. a sub-.500 Jays 31-33).
I'm so sweating your squad I bet a guy two nights back $500 that the Yanks would still win the East (Boris D may have seen that exchange, though details removed should my ex wife have people looking in and wanting a piece). Why? Your starters are nothing special beyond Price, and even he is owned by the Yanks. And we know who has the better bullpen.
September 23 you'll find me and 7 pals down the third baseline, rocking Yankee gear, behind that guy on the Jays with the asshole haircut, 5th row. Limo service to boot. Bring me beer.
Oh, and you're about as much a nemesis as the Jays have been historically to the Yanks which is to say, not at all. One way traffic.
Better?
Oh, and I hear the Jays are looking for an all dirt infield soon with the Argos moving. Who is gonna play right for Bautista then?
P.S. There's a reason he goes by "Joey Bats" and not "Joey Gloves", isn't there?
Man...I'm always gonna have it.

CapnCanadian hit Hoffa4Three with a DQ award (if I'm not mistaken) and MK lit you up about whatever point it was you were making having about the same chance of being true as Rafael Araujo did of becoming a deadeye three point marksman. As for the keeper league team, I honestly couldn't care less. I didn't look at the results, I had no interest in it whatsoever or any idea how that team was doing. In fact, I had forgotten all about it. You know why? I have a two-year-old son who commands a LOT of my attention, and who actually listens, learns and develops. Oh, and I'm advancing quickly at my place of employment and have another considerable business plan being fleshed out as we speak. And I've passed three Wine and Spirits Education Trust courses with the highest possible honours. And I've taken up fly fishing. The one thing in my life I have even less interest in monitoring than my keeper team is, in fact, you. So you can keep that keeper league team, and honestly, I hope you enjoy a lot of success with it. I hope it really satisfies you. Personally, I don't expect I'll be pining for it when I'm in negotiations to close a land deal and secure considerable financing for a new business or doing the grid on a great glass of wine or simply just enjoying the discoveries my son makes every day. So maybe I can be perceived to be a bit of a dick at times. It's because I have little patience for numbnuttery, but it's not personal.

In regards to the first paragraph you definitely have me confused for someone else. The only real exchange I had as Hoffa4Three involved another young poster at the time who's name escapes me. Also, the name was sarcastic. I do remember you wanting to get back into the keeper league at somepoint last year, hence why I thought you might be interested in the team. But it doesn't matter, my keepers are so epic I'll be contending with very little effort or time dedicated for the next decade.

Whenever I think I have a serious memory, I'm reminded that BorisD has a memory that elephants would envy.
I also envy people who dominate keeper leagues for which there is no prize.
One of these is more true than the other.

Seriously though, if I had any money to back someone's upstart it would be you for sure in what sounds like a possible winery being started. I have nowhere near the level of cash needed to invest in that. Close! Looking at starting a cidery. I have a few properties that have my attention and once I get my business plan written with actual concrete numbers (and not just ballpark) and some help in the marketing plan, I hope to start pitching the various startup grant organizations and programs out there to hit me with a few bucks to get rolling. And, because this is Ontario and we have to treat people like children, going through umpteen processes with EVERY SINGLE FREAKING LEVEL OF GOVERNMENT TO GET APPROVAL. The basic model will be low production/premium quality so I can keep the marginal fixed costs as low as possible. Efficiency comes in the alcohol game either in having mostly manual production and premium quality or extremely capital-intensive/mass production simply because the capital costs for bottling are HUGE; you either have to go to a mostly manual production method or reduce the marginal fixed costs of the machinery by going to almost industrial-scale production. Honestly, making the beverage isn't that expensive; it's the costs of putting it in the damned bottle that eat up so much. And, in Ontario, taxes - unless you can sell out of your own facility, in which case the massive LCBO taxes do not apply. The minute you sell to the LCBO or to a licensed establishment (e.g. bar, restaurant, etc.), you're basically breaking even and no more. Would I be interested in investors? Possibly. Depends upon what kind of financing and grants are available. Obviously, since there won't be much actual product to sell for the first seven or so years of production (trees take time to grow to the point where they produce fruit and it takes a further year for a natural and slow fermentation to complete, then add to whatever time frame it takes for the second fermentation to go through in-bottle plus how much time you want for bottle aging), I am concerned about falling short in working capital until production is reliable and sales get up to the point where I want them. So chance are I'm still going to be working full-time for somebody else for quite some time yet. I don't want to give too much away, but the basic products I plan on making are a sparkling cider based on the traditional method (basically, a production similar to cidre bouché from Normandy), both in brut (dry) and demi-sec (off-dry) formats, a sparkling rosé cider using certain crabapples (which, when done well, tend to smell and taste very similar to the rosé wines of the Mediterranean), and ice cider made from the cryoextraction method (i.e. the apples freeze on the trees and you press them out in the freezing cold until you hurt so badly you beg death to find you quickly). And, if I have the capacity, to make an apple brandy in the double-distillation method similar to Calvados Pays-d'-Auge. But the laws involved in making a distillery in this jurisdiction (not to mention the insane taxes) make that a tad less likely to pull off. The broad strokes I'm pretty confident in being able to execute successfully. High-end ciders are tricky to execute well due to the relatively low levels of alcohol (~7% ABV) and how relatively susceptible they are to bacteriological spoilage because of that. But it's basically a matter of diligent cleanliness right throughout the production cycle. So that's where I'm at. If I can just get a day off work to get some quotes for the production equipment, I'll be ready to start presenting.
