And the proverbial sun shines on the proverbial dog's ass someday.
Nice goggles (bitch).
But kudos for not making it exclusively about me.
And a sincere congrats to the actual Jays fans on here.

Good on him for doing that for himself, but ya that timing is bizarre. Couldn't he wait a month and do it in the off season?

Or like, Wednesday? (reverse jinxing Kuechel who has owned the Yanks this year) Agree it is good on him for owning it that way, but the timing is real, real odd. And he had just started to pitch real well the second half, September in particular. Now it's Tanaka, Severino (LOVE!), Pineda (up and down of late) and who the hell knows if they advance. What do you make of the Jays getting Buehrle up there on Sunday with home field on the line? I think it was the height of amateur hour, in short. Meaningless record really, and flushed any chance of winning the game.

Gibbons shat the bed the last week of the season with gross mismanagement.
Shouldn't have punted the AL IMO, and should have just let MB get his record on the Friday. Not sure about the decision to skip Price and have him go on 11 days rest for game 1. Also partying like they won everything after clinching the division was foolish, especially since it meant punting the next 2 games.
Yanks in trouble here.
why the heck are they booing Gardner?

Ahh, actual discussion. Refreshing.
Completely agree. I get the one time, that's expected really, but should've been business as usual after that, especially when they were leading if I recall. That's a major fuck up if they face KC in the ALCS who have better horses in the OF and a lot more ground to cover, if the extra game comes into play. The Buehrle thing was ridiculous.
Gardner has sucked for the second half really, and a K machine all night (the second was AWFUL how far outside it was), so booing is about expected. I'd rather see them vent at another guy though, anybody really, as Gardner plays balls out every game.
So Gallardo v. Price, Hamels v. Stroman are the first two. Interesting! You'll find a new feeling in the best of 5: panic onsets FAST if Game 1 is on the ropes. 7 gamers you have a lot more time to breathe and its a truer test.

Ya I've always liked Gardner, by far my favorite Yankee.
Game 1 is a must win. Things can unravel very quickly if we lose it, and Gibby has left himself terribly open to criticism if it goes down that road.

The most fun and nerve wrecking series the last few years beside of course the 2011 WS has been the NLDS's. Phillies in 11, Nationals, Dodgers last year (though it was probably way worse for the dodgers fans), and I'm dreading it this year as well.
Regarding Sabathia: Not necessarily strange timing. Could be he realised, after NYY clinching last week that it would be difficult for him to cope with the emotional ups and downs of the postseason, the standard for winning the wildcard game is champagne showers, and I assume, some decent partying in the clubhouse after, not exactly something that would be good for him. Or alternatively, age knee a loss might drive him onto a drinking binge.
Regardless, there might be very good reason for him to go into rehab right now, reasons only him and those nearest him are aware of, and so it should be. Many things are more important than baseball, and his is one of those things. Can only wish him good luck and applaud him for taking the necessary step for himself and his family.
Back from a bit of a hiatus, but couldn't miss this place with the Jays back in the play-offs!

Wouldn't call it "must win", but with Price on the hill, it will feel that way should they lose. Like I said, best of 5 amplifies the urgency huge.

Back from a bit of a hiatus, but couldn't miss this place with the Jays back in the play-offs! I respect the hell out of him for not letting the timing dictate, but MAN that is a strange turn. Read a story yesterday of how he was seen drinking during the rain delay Friday and had to be shoved in a cab, which brought up the bar incident in Toronto earlier this year. Clearly the guy has some demons which is sad, as by all accounts, he's as good as guys get in the game. Now, as for my Yanks, pretty proud they treated it the polar opposite of the way the Angles treated the Josh Hamilton situation, and we saw how brilliant that karma played out. Enjoy the games, you guys. A bit envious I don't have that stress on Thanksgiving weekend.

Having Carrera come out instead of Josh last night seemed to kill any possible comeback momentum :/ although I understand the protocol, and his well-being is more important than a ball game.
Price as well as the offense performed below average. Big loss, really puts the pressure on for today.

Tulowitzki needs to find a sport he's good at, because baseball doesn't appear to be it for him any longer.

Tulo just needs to get back to his usual hitting numbers. His defense is still stellar.
But... this series. Texas playing some good fundamental baseball right now. Jays got nothin'.

Tulowitzki needs to find a sport he's good at, because baseball doesn't appear to be it for him any longer. Lol his hitting has been shipped part since joining the Jays but his defense has been spectacular. The play on deshields up the middle was one of the top by a shortstop this season.

Low class Blue Jays fans indeed. High stress situation, ref makes a "bad" call (which it turns out he was right, "fans" go ape shit. What is throwing stuff on the field going to accomplish? And a beer got thrown on a baby??I love the Jays but gotta agree with Mango on this one. These type of bandwagon fans we can do without. Very low class. And it's too bad that the culprits ruin it for the true fans that come and watch the game.

Is it bandwagon fans that are doing it? I would think it's over exuberance from being out of contention for just about every major sport. I agree it's low class and ruins out for everyone, I just don't see why bandwagoners are for sure the ones throwing the alcohol.

Probably the only smudge on what was a great game and result.
I think it's a combination between the two. Emotions and some fairweather fans.

Congrats on winning a great game but the beer throwing, given what I encountered a few weeks back, was hardly surprising. My guess is it is mainly newcomers to the game who will be gone before long which is a shame for the true fans that have endured decades of shit. Showering a baby with beer? Glad the cops got the guy. Hope his mom is proud. To quote one here: am sure the baby deserved it. Also, the Jays get Texas again May 2nd. You can bet Bautista gets ear holed, which is nice. KC it is. At least there isn't any animosity there already. It will be interesting if home field truly weighs in.

And been there done that on belligerent Yankee fans at the Dome. Ask islandboi. That said, disgusting display at Rogers Centre. You hit a fucking kid and their Mother moron. I hope they were arrested as well.

Bring on KC.

Not that I really care who it is in particular since it's despicable either way, but I seem to remember them stopping selling beer in the 500 level when they were bad and didn't have bandwagon people there because of the same kind of poor behaviour. Really it's just scum people.

I think it's pretty awesome of Ryan Goins to take the blame on that botched bleeder. Mostly because Jose would have pointed the finger at him anyways.
Remember you guys, there's a reason he doesn't call himself "Joey Glove".

Come on, he was waving off Bats like a maniac.
I think it was mostly crowd noise to blame. And you can take that further and say perhaps the Jays weren't wise to punt away home field like they did?
