If all we have to give up for Drummond is Norm + fillers (Stanley/Mccaw/Baynes) then I am ok with it. If we give up any picks, that's a fail.
I'd prefer to trade NormGod for picks and some young talent. The way he's going, some team would surely love a 6th man/playoff beast for him and give up a good asset or two.
Similar with Lowry.
Give me future pieces, open audition rest of season for everyone else (including Thomas... damn you, Nurse) and ride out the wave.
No fans, no games in T.O. Reset and tune up for next season (with maybe a top 8 pick...)

Malachi ripped apart g league tonight, 35/7/8 with 4 steals and 1 turnover. I'm a believer since I saw him in preseason. He just needs to play and become familiar with his teammates and the league. He's a lead guard and will be a failure unless he's given the keys to run a team.

Boucher won G-league MVP/DPOTY and VanVleet and Siakam won a championship together. Hopefully Flynn can be our next G-league success story

Flynn is doing what he should be doing if he wants to play in the NBA for the Raptors. Bench players can attest to how hard it is to get floor time on this team. Despite their place in the standings the front line on this club is quite good. Raps are going to need some talent coming up next year.

One game under .500: 14-15
Half a game behind Boston
Sitting in 6th place, 2 games out of 3rd
If the playoffs started today, we'd be playing the Bucks in the 1st round (and giving Giannis nightmares)
7-3 in the last 10 games
And William Luo gave his first slander pod of the season
Things are looking up folks!

Alright I'm back on the winning train. Let's make a trade to shore up center and go for top 3 spot.
Really like dreaming about a top draft player on the team but we're still a winning team.

5 of the 7 charges dropped against Davis, due to the prosecution thinking that they wouldn't have enough evidence for a guilt verdict. He's still unable to see his kid. Gotta be somewhat a load off his mind, still has a way to go. I hope that he is innocent. And this mental drain surely has affected his play this year.

Boogie just got released. I hope Masai goes a calling (even though he's probably all but signed with one of the LA teams)

I almost posted about Boogie here but he's having a pretty Baynesian season, in terms of can't really finish around the rim anymore and kind of an inconsistent outside shooter. Don't get me wrong though he's better at almost everything than Baynes and could have bigger upside. With Baynes you know what he is at this point and he's not getting any younger, whereas Boogie might still be knocking the rust off after missing so much time with injury. Like you said he'll probably go back to the Lakers since they still gave him an honorary ring last year and are missing Anthony Davis for the next month, and he loves his front-running ring chaser teams.

Cousins entire career has been on and off the rails because of what goes on between his ears. Likely costing him in excess of 100 million dollars.

Just saw that he's being investigated for death threats against his girlfriend. Pass!! Is there anything new with that story? The only thing I can find is he was investigated summer of '19 and case was eventually dismissed after he threatened his ex-girlfriend over the phone when she said she wouldn't allow their 7 year old son to attend Cousins' wedding to a different woman. Still a scumbag move to threaten to kill someone of course, wanted to make sure it's clear I don't condone saying something like that nba.nbcsports.com/2020/02/28/demarcus-cousins-on-allegedly-threatening-to-kill-ex-girlfriend-i-said-the-wrong-thing/

So the Wolves fired Rick Saunders because obviously that garbage team is his fault. This hits Raptors news though because they are hiring our new offensive wizard Chris Finch. Shame we didn't even get a year from him just after our offense is taking a nice bump this year so far.

Wish the best for Chris Finch. He worked closely with Nurse for years when he was head coach of the British national team (with Nurse as his assistant), and has a very similar coaching resume going from Europe to D-league/G-league to offensive NBA assistant. I can't tell if this is a smart move by the Wolves or just a desperation move to try to get their own Nick Nurse. Interesting to see we're starting to get a whole Nick Nurse coaching tree already with Finch and Nate Bjorkgren.

Happy/sad moment.
Saw there's a possibility that we get compensation. If it happens, probably a second round pick.

I'm slightly worried about Lowry's thumb injury. If he re-sprained the UCL (ulnar collateral ligament), it could be a problem. It basically keeps the thumb from going outwards. In other sports (it's often injured in rugby), you would tape it up tight so it wouldn't move and deal with it (a lot of time surgically) in the off-season. However, for ball handling, you need more thumb mobility, so you can't secure it as much, and it can get easily re-aggravated if a player comes back before it's healed.
He could be back soon, but i also wouldn't be surprised if he's held out until after the break.

I just realized the funny part if Chris Finch actually ends up being a decent coach for the Wolves: they traded their 1st this year to the Warriors in the Andrew Wiggins/D'Angelo Russell trade, and it's only top-3 protected. They currently have the worst overall record and would probably keep their pick depending on how the draft lottery goes. But now if Finch comes in and gets them to improve a bit, they could just end up shooting themselves in the foot and losing the 4th or 5th overall pick, when this is widely considered to be a much stronger draft than last season. Even if the Wolves decided they had enough young players already and didn't want the pick, you'd have to think now a high lottery first rounder + Wiggins should've got them a way better return than Russell.
It would never happen but my new favourite scenario is KAT wants out in the offseason, and they need picks and prospects to replace him. So the Warriors trade them Wiseman and the Wolves own 1st round pick + Wiggins as salary filler for KAT.

If it's related to Pascal's contact, the whole team might be out until after the all star break.
All star game was a bad idea this year. Just name the team for recognition's sake and not play it.

I agree. Who cares about the all-star game anyway, it's pretty boring. I get the league is probably trying to fulfill TV contracts but why not just cancel the all-star game and make a bigger deal out of dunk contest/skills challenge, most of those are less contact between players and easier to put on. I get that when there's an outbreak you're screwed regardless and there isn't much you can do, but what happens if an All-Star tests positive right after the game and suddenly you have contact tracing not just for one team but for every guy going back to their own individual teams. Why even risk it?

Agree on all fronts about the All-star game, it's a stupid meaningless activity but the NBA makes a lot of money from it and since they aren't making enough. Seems all the players agree too that it is stupid but they are obliged to do it because the union agreed. That's the really crazy part and who i question for playing the game, the union is supposed to protect the players and it was agreed at the start of the season there would be no game to give them a break.
Good year for no Raptors to make it really.

FVV, Siakam, OG, Flynn and McCaw all to miss tomorrow's game against the pistons. That's not looking good. Kyle better be ready for him plus bench superiority because he's going to be playing it all game.
