So ... which of you Kenny Rogers types picked the Nets over the Bucks? Biggest Vegas upset in 27 years, at least according to The Ringer. Must have been a nice payday for someone.

Haha. I wish. Started out pretty well for gambling the past few days, but I think I'm done now. Managed to lose everything I made and a bit more thanks to the Bucks. I perhaps stupidly added Bucks moneyline as a parlay to every bet today to help goose up the numbers a little bit, because I was that confident it was a done deal. So I lost my Bucks moneyline/Dallas moneyline parlay, as well as my Bucks moneyline/Heat moneyline (both pretty big bets I would've won without the Bucks side of the bet). I still have 50 bucks riding on the Nets getting less than three wins and suddenly that's in jeopardy now too thanks to the Bucks.
I guess the nice thing about just watching basketball without gambling now, is I can enjoying watching all of the Raptors' rivals stumble while we continue to wreck shop. Felt a little gross cheering for the Bucks just because I had money on them.

Ya I'm the same, that Nets win lost me a couple bets of the day and put the Nets under I have in jeopardy, even telling me they are going to rest their main guys I would still think bucks win.
I'm dialing back a lot of betting in these games now too because it that game as the final straw. Way too much randomness here of people resting. I'll look at some games for teams that must win from here on out.

The really pathetic part is in addition to the Nets already being short-handed, they were playing the backups of their backups since Levert, Joe Harris and Jarrett Allen were all out. Over half of their rotation was guys they just signed off the street.

Given it another shot, still not doing great lately but getting by, today the Kings play the Nets and the Pelicans play the Wizards, so both garbage teams play both must wins teams. I feel like this is a good part not only for the alternative spread each but then combined as well.

The Bucks losing moneyline to Nets cost me almost a hundred bucks has left me so totally gunshy that I just can't bring myself to deposit more cash for the rest of this season; I'm worried I'd go on full tilt to try to make it up. Right now my potential payouts are if Nets finish 8th in the east, if Nets finish under 2.5 wins, and if Denver finishes under 3.5 wins. If any of those pay out I'll have some cash in the account again for playoffs.
This is probably a dumb bet but if I were betting, I'd consider betting Wizards over Pelicans because I think the Pelicans look like a broken team and they're completely checked out. But it's probably a good thing I'm not wagering on it because it would be a risky bet.

Lol. So are the skeleton crew Nets sneaky good now? Or do the Kings just suck this bad?

Shockingly Nets are in 7th and could be our first round matchup; the only way it could get worse is if they managed to beat the Raps. I mean let's not get crazy of course. But they've definitely played a lot better than I expected

Then I'll bet against them in a quick series and they'll end up making it a long series and I'll lose more money there too.

I’m done betting. But since this is basically just the “Nets ruined my life” thread now, the Nets beat the Clippers tonight, because of course they did. Paul George sat but Kawhi played 37 minutes.

ya i started betting the moneyline on the underdogs, especially against main teams that are resting guys. That said i have severely lowered the amounts i want to bet. I will now be betting against the Raptors a fair amount when the opponents have something to play for since they are now going to be resting key guys.

Luca, Kristaps and Finney-smith all resting for game against Jazz, who are resting Mitchell. Seems like a no brainer Utah win, took the alternative.
EDIT: Well, Utah rested everyone at the end of the game and got outscored massively in the 4th and ruined this for me. I bet equally heavy on Phoenix so I'll still be up but almost eliminated the gains from that game.

Obviously I don't want the Nets to go on a Cinderella run because that means they would've beat Raps in the first round. But I do find it funny we've got the same situation as the Celtics, where the backups go on a tear and everyone wonders "think how good this team could be once they get their stars like Kyrie back," and then Kyrie comes back and the team is the same or worse, and he sulks his way to another team. The only reason this scenario won't play out again is because KD is still probably a top-5, maybe top-3 player when he's healthy.

I keep saying I’m done but I put 20 on Raps moneyline when I saw Giannis was out for the Bucks

To help us out in these trying times, the NBA injury report that shows what everyone is listed as: official.nba.com/nba-injury-report-2019-20-season/I believe teams need to submit up to 2 hours before the game and need to be more clear with in/outs. Largely because the NBA is trying to partner with betting/Vegas. Looking at the report, looks like Philly might site their entire starting 5 against Phoenix, so i think this is a hard bet on Phoenix to slaughter even with them playing a back to back.

Now that I finally won a frickin' bet, I'm back baaaaby! Wooooo! Time to lose it all again! Thanks for heads up about the injury report, that's good to know. I really want to bet Suns but -9.5 is pretty steep. I could see them stomping 76ers for most of the game and then taking their foot off the gas in the 4th and winning by 8 or whatever. And last time I put a large moneyline bet on a massive, can't-lose favourite I lost a lot of cash.
Edit: the Nets, man. I don't get it. They're resting most of their current patchwork starting five (Levert, Allen, Harris, Garrett Temple) and just stomping the Magic right now. It's almost like they tried to tank and instead became one of the hottest teams in the league. LeVert's been running his mouth about how the Nets can beat the Raptors in the playoffs though so I think he's in for a rude awakening when the games start to count.

I saw Magic were resting most of their team as well, all their main guys at least, so i turned around and bet on the Nets on the moneyline without looking to see the Nets are benching everyone too. Turns out i made the right fuck up here finally. Hopefully it stays that way.
As for Phoenix, I don't think there is much chance they take their foot off to that level, i think this is just a blow out only, not like Philly has any depth...as long as Tobias and Horford both sit which are the remaining questionables. With every team in action today fighting for 8/9 i put a parlay on them all winning since they are in must win and everyone else pretty much doesn't care. We'll see how this goes. Looks like Boston and Dallas aren't really sitting anyone so i'm hoping they just stop playing the main guys somewhere in the second half.

Horford and Harris both out. Seems like Phoenix bet is a no brainer.

So the real question is do I double down on a live bet now that the spread is a lot more realistic (Phoenix -4.5) or do I just cut my losses
|
|
|

Not a terrible proposition to do, but i already doubled down pre-game so im at cutting loses phase right now.

Phoenix up by 5 at the half. I'm glad I put a bit more down at -4.5. If they win -4.5 but don't cover -10 I'll still lose a bit but helps hedge my bet.
