Haha thanks for the tip. Kind of wishing I put more down now. I didn't even know you could extend a line. Is that on sportsinteraction?

Yes it is, if you go to the games list and then click on the game there's a whole bunch of extra bets. One is alternative lines. I basically always use that since it takes the odds from about 1.8 payout to about 2.3. the difference in points is only a couple points but the higher number means instead of needing 60 percent right to break even you only need like 40. Seems like a good target to be to go for.

Nice thanks for the tip. Yeah alternative lines make a lot more sense for betting basketball. In football it's harder to predict how much the favourite will win by, because winning team can just go super conservative and run the ball and never try to score. But in basketball it's not like you can just dribble out the clock every possession. Decided to try a parlay today with Raptors and Celtics, both extended lines.

Lol. Lost the parlay but I only bet a little bit. Maybe overcompensated with a fairly large bet just on the Raptors tonight, but extended the line to 7; would’ve won normally but it became a push. Better than a loss I guess

Yep. I'm pretty convinced raising the amount is still worth it, there hasn't been many times it falls between that changed amount.

One thing I don't understand is how sportsinteraction calculates the max bet you can make. If they start getting too much action on one side, do they limit how much you can bet to limit their potential liability? I saw Nuggets were only -4 against Kings today, which seemed insane considering it's a 13-3 team going against a 7-10 team. I wanted to put a good chunk down on the alternate -7 Nuggets line but it said max stake was only $14. So I ended doing that and putting down more at -4. Even then I think it limited me to $25 max bet on the normal line. Put down an extra $25 on the over 206 because it seems like the average NBA game these days is closer to 220 and I thought Nuggets would blow the Kings out. Now there's still a good chance I'll lose and then I'll be secretly happy the site saved me from myself and prevented me from betting more. But it just seems inconsistent how much it will let me bet on each game.

I honestly didn't know about the limit but I'm pretty sure I've done higher bets than that. I'm guessing it means they actually are moving the line in that case and you need a might be able to get on the new one.

Hahahaha yikes. Glad they put in a low minimum for this one or I might’ve done something I really regretted. I’m still shocked that nuggets were up 57-40 at half and somehow managed not only to lose but fail to hit 100 in a game that went to overtime (there’s ten seconds left in OT so I’m assuming that’s how it’s played out)

I've had a pretty bad run of betting lately. Still up by a decent amount, haven't technically lost money, but I'm down from where I was a month ago for sure. That hasn't stopped me though from putting a large-ish prop bet on O.G. Anunoby getting +10.5 points against the Bulls tonight. I figure Bulls defense isn't great and with FVV out they might need O.G. to score a bit more.
Edit: apparently FVV is questionable right now, not out for sure. But I'm betting either way he's less than 100%

I got OG yesterday for over 1.5 3s made, there must have been a lot of disbelief in him since he was at 2.8 payout so I jumped on that and he got me covered right in the first. I wish I put more on it. I'm considering a Siakam for a double double, yes gets you 3.4 payout.

OG making a comeback for you...
Edit: he's now at 10 going into the fourth lol. Just a free throw needed.

One point. One measly point. That one missed free throw. Brutal. At least the Raps won

Raptors only favored by 1.5 for their home away from home game. Alternate only goes to 4.5. taking this.

I'll probably be hitting the over on the next group of bad teams. I think the being numbers will be off because Raptors have had a harder schedule so far. I missed the last game I wanted to go over on and this one was a no brainer. Wizards next I'll look to be hitting as well but friends a bit, their offense has been so potent I'll check the number first.

I have no idea what to make of this game with all the new injury news

Celtics heavy favorites which means you can pick Raptors to win at good odds. I'm not huge into thinking they win but the Celtics are on a back to back so decent chance. Raptors win it pays 3.4 to 1. I put a small amount on it.

I'm kicking myself because 10 minutes before Bucks/Hawks last night, I was shocked the line only favoured Bucks by 7 and put a big bet down on Bucks. Found out Giannis was ruled out and immediately canceled out the bet so I lost about $8. I massively overrated the Hawks going into this season and worried that maybe, just maybe, they could play the Bucks close with John Collins and no Giannis. But instead it was a total blowout from start to finish. If I had just stuck to my guns I would've won easily.

Also I just can't bring myself to bet Raptors tonight, they match up well when healthy but they're extremely thin right now on the road against a very good team. I did bet Jaylen Brown getting +29.5 combined points/rebounds/assists
Edit: also did a parlay for Magic/Bucks under 215.5 and Suns/Kings over 217, because you only live once I guess

Well...glad for the Raps win. Chalk it up as another "should've listened to scully" words to live by. I'm pissed I missed the game. I only put atiny bet on it so not a huge deal, I just figured back to back the Celtics shouldn't be that huge of favorites.

Well on the plus side the winnings I made on the smaller over/under parlay bet were enough to make up for the loss on the larger Jaylen Brown bet. See kids? Betting is fun!!!

Midway through the 2nd quarter I took an over bet with an adjusted total of 185. I hadn't seen an over-under less than like 205 all season and I thought surely some of these shots will start falling. I figured it would still be a low scoring game but how hard is it to imagine an end score of like 97-90. I'm starting to think I should just give up betting NBA. I'm still up pretty decent because I've been consistently making money on NFL most weekends but I seem to be losing whatever I make from football on my basketball bets. I might just cash out once NFL playoffs are over.

I'm getting a little nervous now. What I thought was a guaranteed win with the Pelicans missing the playoffs after Zion went out and then the Pelicans started the season terribly really never included the 8th seed being 5 games under 500. With Zion now coming back, the Pelicans are only 4 games back of a playoff spot and I feel like this is now in series danger. I really hope the Spurs end up doing what they often do which is go on a run when you start questioning them and get back up to 500.

Got a really nice payout last night on a parlay of Cavs moneyline/over 220. I'm kicking myself because I also wanted to do Thunder moneyline but chickened out. I'm going Wizards/Hawks under 238.5 tonight. I know they're two young teams who play fast and can't play defense but man...238 is pretty steep. Like this could easily be a high scoring 120-110 type game and still be well under.

Gasol coming back, Raptors are finally healthy for a game and I am going for it. They are 1.5 points underdogs against the thunder, so I'm taking Raptors to win by more than 3.

I put a pretty big bet on Siakam getting +28.5 total points/rebounds/assists. The payout isn't great (1.65) but if he's anywhere close to his normal minutes it seems like a no-brainer. (Edit: I should probably mention I've had bad results taking 'no-brainer' moneyline bets against the Titans the past two weeks in the NFL playoffs, and have lost the majority of the profits I made this season, so maybe I should stop calling anything a no-brainer bet. At least I haven't technically lost any of my own money yet.)
