Ever have a situation where you needed to tie something up and just couldn't figure out how? The twine or rope you were using just wouldn't hold and wished you had paid more attention in Boy Scouts? Help has arrived. My woodsman cousin, one of my favourite people on earth, says that you can't really consider yourself a man if you can't tie a bowline reliably.

So Harper and the cons are still trying to hammer the "anti-drug" thing... he again references that legalizing marijuana is going to ruin children (more accessible if legalized... okay...).
How out to lunch can you be? This fear mongering needs to stop.
And while this is nowhere near the most important election topic, the fact they reference to the weed thing in their attack ad against Trudeau just shows that Harper wants it his way and refuses to change his mind.

Well, politically it makes good sense. Why not be the only party pledging to keep the prohibition of marijuana going? Why not keep your appeal with the segment of the population that's uncomfortable with legalizing it? Most people who will not vote Conservative would not be more inclined to do so if they did abolish the prohibition. And many people who might otherwise want to see it legalized might still, despite that, find the Conservatives their best option. I agree with your point, though. I've never touched the stuff EVER and I want to see it legalized.

This war on drugs has failed and it's only clogging up prisons. Actually, might be worth it to start an election thread, I guess it is kinda important to discuss these things.

Canada Post is stopping the tracking of international packages, effectively screwing over a ton of people. Seems to be a transparent plan to have them privatize the company due to supposed incompetence, creating a ridiculous monopoly that will then have customers to pay out the ass with increased service charges to get an acceptable level of service again.

Dog Days of Summer, I'm trying to get into English Premier league to help bridge my time between seasons. I've gotten into MLS Soccer and wanted to see what the real thing is supposed to look like. My younger brother religiously follows Arsenal but I wanted to follow a few younger players so I chose Manchester United who have recently acquired Memphis Deepay and Anthony Martial. They aren't going to set the league on fire any time soon but I'll be paying attention to growth. It helps that they only play once a week.

It's hard to find things to talk about. There's no headline things going on right now, the Raptors are still stuck in that no-man's-land of "too good to tank, not good enough to compete at a high level".
I've been racking my brain for weeks now about a trade scenario that might at least getting talking and I'm not really coming up with anything exciting. Except perhaps a complete blow-it-up tear down, but I don't see us doing that.

They badly need a scorer, but they shored up every other gap in their roster, and there were many, quite well. And Memphis is looking like like a slam dunk right now. If you're looking for a distraction, the Rugby world cup is about to start in a couple of weeks. Incredible sport.

I dunno about slam dunk but he does look like he has the tools to be a force in the league. Its still early but I'm hoping he shows more consistency (he's 21 so maybe that's greedy of me to ask) but I'm stoked about this kid. I'm also curious to see if Martial can get first team minutes and not fall flat on his face. Reminds me of a Bruno-esque reach. Even the comparison to Henry reminds me of Brazillian KD.

I honestly love EPL more than any other league...by far. Every game matters (they get paid from TV revenues based on where they finish so not one team tanks...EVER). The once-ish a week is beauty too, no day to day investment - focus is easy. Nothing I dig more than getting up and knocking out my fav sport/team on a Saturday morning and having the rest of the day at the ready. And unlike the shit people love here, no TV timeouts, or fuckheads blathering on in the commentary booth (insert NFL commentators in particular) or slurping the local team (insert Suck Martinez here) or pretending every game matters (insert the skullduggery of the NHL season here).
Love Memphis, but the Martial pickup at that rate has me scratching my skull some when bigger names were bandied about at lesser rates, though I once thought same when they bought some kid named Cristiano Ronaldo. Very excited about what Pigstabber (that's the translation for Schweinstagger) brings, even at 30/31 or whatever he is. Dude is another level above Carrick for me and with both in similar roles, that's some mad depth. Need to get Wazza going, but he's a notoriously slow starter. Darmian looks the deal of the season so far.
Also curious to see how they use De Gea now that the deal with Real blew up.

He's leagues ahead of Romero as a player, and I think he knows that pulling a Wince Carter would de-value him going forward.

I definitely think they have to Start De Gea, they've already listed him for Champions League and they seem to be working towards a contract extension. Once that's signed it would seem likely that De Gea would be back to being the #1 starter. www.sport-english.com/en/news/barca/david-gea-loathe-commit-new-united-contract-4478040metro.co.uk/2015/09/04/juan-mata-is-helping-david-de-gea-feel-happy-about-staying-at-manchester-united-report-5375554/

Hey folks. How's it going?
If anyone is up for some fantasy basketball this year, I've been running a "raptors chat" league and the season is actually going on its ninth year I believe. I think only about 4 actual RC members remain in the league, and we have a few openings so I'd figure I'd reach out to you guys.
It's just a for fun league, no money, but it's always competitive and we'd be looking for someone to be active all year. It's standard yahoo h2h.

Good times
