So Grayson Allen gets 17.5 mill per for 4 seasons. Allen had a fantastic season. So that brings an obvious question to the table. What to do with Trent and Brown who are both in the same category, already getting paid more than Allens new contract, and both have had poor seasons IMO. Do we sign one, both, or neither? I am firmly in the neither group unless they are willing to sign even cheaper, which I doubt. They might and probably will have to sign cheap with another team. I feel like Trent and Brown are both guys who might sign for cheaper to fit into a championship roster but if you're a terrible team like the Raptors there's no incentive for them to want to stay unless we back up the Brinks truck. I think both just walk for nothing. Or, maybe we trade Brown away this off-season for salary filler + pick (or a young player we like on a longer contract). His team option is a couple days after the draft so could be part of a draft night trade still.

Who would want Brown at 20 after this season? I'm convinced the Pacers dumped him on us. They didn't want him either. The only way I can see another team wanting him on his current contract is if they are dumping another bad contract on us. Now maybe I'd accept another dump if a 1st pick was included but that's wishful thinking on my part.
No, I think this is a cut the cord situation. Never should have accepted him in the deal or should have dealt him immediately at the deadline.

Brown apparently has been fighting injuries this season — bruised knee or something that robber him of his explosiveness. Depending on how the draft shakes out, he might be good to sign at a discount, assuming he thinks he can play a lot better and sign a bigger contract.
But, yeah, letting Brown and Trent walk won't make me sad. You can always pick up guys like that.

Rumors and speculation have it that they might try to do exactly that, find a trade for him for the draft and pick up the option if they do or cut him. Side note, Brown said at the end of the year that he's been dealing with a knee injury and playing through it but like he was playing on one leg...immediate question of why comes to mind.

Brown seems like a low IQ guy.
Trent is Trent.
I'm good with either leaving and developing whoever we get from the draft. Hopefully we keep most of our picks or move up for some better talent. Hopefully no trades for similar Trent/Brown-type guys.

So dude made 20k to throw away potentially millions. Apparently also leaked to someone that he would leave the game early where that person did 80k parlay for 1.1 million payout that hit but also never received. What a waste.

Yes, its altogether sad, disappointing, and contemptible. He was making about $400,000 and on the verge of probably doubling that and likely getting a 2 year deal. All he had to do was stay healthy and clean for a 6 months. I can only guess he has a problem for not realizing he was that close to easy street. As for the lifetime ban, that is rough but he is the perfect patsy to send a message to the entire league. A no name fringe player that nobody will miss.

This is so funny.
One of the biggest screw ups in a players career.
Wonder if he'll go overseas and if a team will actually sign him.

This guy fought back from 1 potentially career ending injury, if not 2 can't remember. He was a feel good story of perseverance, he thought of quitting but his brother convinced him to keep trying and he did it, he made it to the NBA...to do all that and end up with this as your legacy is just tragic.

Oh crap. There's suddenly a lot of talk about the Raptors retiring a jersey that I really don't want to see retired. New Jersey can do it, but please not us. Just embarrassing.
