Pascal not exactly leading the way in his first Pacers playoffs. Honestly, getting 2 picks for him might have been a good deal. I'm going to assume that this was early in the game because 36 pts of 15-25, 13 reb, 1 stl, 2 blk is a pretty good game and he looks like the only player that came to play on the Pacers. Pacers are going to pay for it but Siakam is just a great player. Will forever love and defend the dude.

He got his points later, but that game was over that the half.

Well, that Knicks-76ers game was ... something. I saw the score with a minute left and assumed the good guys had it in the bag. And then... craziness.

Incidentally, during the ad break, NBA League Pass was showing Lowry in North Philly, showing off where he grew up. It was great stuff.

Wow, now this is a good Pascal game. Not just scoring in iso, but leading the team. This is the Pascal I remember happily.

Can't believe I'm rooting for the Heat. ... But in the battle of evil vs. monstrous, one must go the lesser evil.
But a 6-point lead with a quarter left isn't much in today's NBA.

And the Heat pulled off the win! Despite good games from their big 2 guys.
On to Pels-Thunder. The nice thing is, this is year another series where I don't care who wins, there's just a bunch of guys i want to see play well.

Jonas! Dominating game 2 (well, in the first few minutes). Every single point for the Pels!

I never forget playoff JV is a thing. He gets near 20 rebounds every time. I bet on him hitting those numbers in game 1 and won, too bad I didn't bet enough. I will always remember how dominant he was in game 1 against the Nets that got KG and Pierce that the rest of the series the focus was on falling all over to get him in foul trouble from then on because they could not stop him.

He's a funny player. A liability at times but he has another gear and not all players have that ability to crank it up. I'd rather have him on my team than not.

Jonas’s playoff rebounding is just nuts. Over 29% TR% for the past couple of years. 39.9% defensive rebounding percentage this year. When he beasts, he’s so damn impressive. I wish he got more recognition

Embiid scored 50 while dealing with a case of Bell's palsy and a wonky knee. Damn. I feel for the guy.

Jonas (and the Pelicans) eliminated in 4. But that elimination game was really good. In fact, there's been a lot of excellent games so far in round 1.

Is JV better than Poeltl? There's a pretty decent argument that he is better. Either way it is close and JV is getting paid less, and since he's a free agent he will probably sign somewhere else for less again. I'd offer him a contract not because we need him but because I'm tired of signing free agents that don't deliver.

That opening quarter of Nuggets-Timberwolves game 1 … wow, does it feel like the Raptors are about a thousand years away from being anywhere near this level of basketball. Really impressive stuff.

T-Wolves reminding everyone that defence can win games even in today's NBA.
Makes you wonder what might have been with the Raps high-defensive roster if they could have found a way to get the missing pieces to go with it in time.
I'll admit, back in our center-less days, I wanted Gobert for the Raps in the off-season. But I was laughing when I saw what the insane price for him turned out to be. Wolves are proving me wrong. Even still, that was a crazy price.

Winning NBA championships is about talent and being big. The Timberwolves have the biggest front line in the league. One of the best things about the Raptors championship roster was how freaking huge they were across the front. The Warriors proved that you can win by just shooting over a big team, but they had Curry. I'm not sure it is an easily repeatable strategy.

Nice to see the Cavs winning a game, too. Another team with a really big frontline.

Nice to see the Cavs winning a game, too. Another team with a really big frontline. The Celtics without Porzingus are vulnerable. I'm still not sure there is anyone in the east good enough to stop them but the Cavs didn't steal the game tonight, they handled the Celtics in Boston. Can Porzingus come back in time and healthy enough to make a difference?

Definitely rooting for anyone that can stop Boston, and the Cavs looked monstrous last night. But I too find it hard to believe anyone can stop Boston this time around. They just have so many weapons--I think they're fine even without Kristaps Porzingis. I don't know if the Cavs can count on Boston to shoot that bad again.
It seemed like the Celtic's game plan was to try to shut down Donovan Mitchel and call it a day. That's clearly not enough and then they gave up on that towards the end of the game too.
I agree - Celtics still take this series. But the Cavs have now proven they can be far more than a speed bump.
