No respect for plays like that in any sport, much less basketball.
A play like that could cause any number of debilitating injuries. A minor TBI would have put Kelly out at least a week, with effects that could last indefinitely.
If anything, 1 games is too light of a suspension.

Dallas losses a frantic ending that had the game handed to then and blown at the end. Unfortunately that will likely be their end, can't afford to waste any chances against OKC.
Edit: looks like they got lucky and the score which was on the board was called back presumably because the shot wasn't released in time.

GS just swept the Jazz without playing any of their starters more than 35 minutes in the final game.
Here is a crazy fact: Utah led for about one quarter in game three, but otherwise GS led the entire series.
People complaining about how these playoffs suck are kind of right.

If the Cavs and the Warriors go 12-0 in the playoffs I might seriously consider not watching NBA games next season... not until they fix the "super teams" problem.

Definatly, the lack of parity is becoming a huge elephant in the room for the NBA.

When LeBron carried his old team on his back to win it all for his home city at least he accomplished something special... if Durant wins a championship with the GSW it means absolutely nothing, that's the sad part.

The Cavs were huge underdogs in that series which raised the stakes a bit.
They'll be underdogs this year, too. Maybe we will see an entertaining final series, it's just too bad that everything leading up to the Finals has been so boring.

I take the point that the apparent inevitability of the score card for the Finals has significantly dampened the excitement, but in my opinion there have still been some entertaining matches.
The Jazz vs. Clippers series had some good moments. The Chicago v. Boston opened with a surprise. And the Houston v. OKC wasn't close, but it was dramatic. Even the Bucks series was exciting in a painful sort of way. All subjective opinion of course.
Nobody thinks Washington (or Boston) will take a game off Cleveland? If they can't, I guess in the positive column it makes the Raptor's sweep less embarrassing.

Spurs vs. Warriors should be a good series.

Is it just me or are there a lot of blowouts in the playoffs now? Games seemed closer before teams started going nuts with the three. Also, I heard a crazy stat this morning: teams facing elimination at home are 0-10 this year.
It would soooo sweet to see the Spurs beat the Warriors. Won't happen though.

Not sure how many of you watched the Houston/Spurs game, but i did and let me tell you the box score has nothing on James Harden's game. When a team faces elimination usually there is a sense of urgency and extra effort all around...unless you're James Harden. That was the laziest game I've ever seen. On offense and defense he didn't give a fuck, it was frankly unbelievable. That was the how well a MVP candidate can carry a team. If he did win it he better lose it after this game.

I saw bits of it. Was channel flipping but I agree with that assessment. He seemed uninspired and played poorly.
I don't know how the Spurs do it (well I do, Pops is the man) but no Kawhi and no Parker and they beat the Rockets.
Pops has to be considered one of the best coaches in any pro sports league.

I will never argue against Pop, but honestly in this case it is CLEARLY Harden. He was brutal and lethargic and he ruined the whole team. The offense was based around Harden and he did nothing, he didn't drive and dish, he didn't create his own shot, he basically just passed it to someone and now they were expected to do something with it.

Watching San Antonio and Golden State battle makes me feel like the playoffs have finally actually started. Someone has missed the boston vs washington series.... I suppose that's a fair point, but it feels like they're really just vying for the privilege of getting obliterated by the Cavaliers, which takes away from the sense of significance I feel when I watch. Having said that, the series has admittedly been quite entertaining, in an enjoy-it-out-of-context kind of way.

The fact that Zaza isn't getting suspended is beyond ridiculous, he should be held out from multiple games for a play like that. Even if the intent wasn't there (which I 100% think it was) even as an accident this play needs to be punished so that players actively avoid doing it by moving their feet differently on closeouts. You as a player are responsible for where your feet are, same as hockey with your stick. Nevermind the fact that the Spurs could have won the first game, and now are massive underdogs for game 2, and going down 0-2 against the Warriors makes this nearly impossible to overcome.
Pop says it best:

After watching Cleveland destroy Boston, I'm feeling much less terrible about how badly we lost. I mean, I'm not happy about it, but a lot of the edge is gone.

Cleveland is on a mission to sweep to make sure they get as much rest as possible for the finals. I'm not even watching any game right now, there's no point in watching a team kill another.

Does anyone even care about the finals this year? It's supposed to be billed as the 3peat for the championship but I think that's for the causal fans of basketball to draw their interest. I don't know anyone giving the Cavs a chance. I watched every finals game last year but I'm not sure I will this year, my only debate I have is whether the Warriors win in 4 of 5 and that's not a compelling reason to watch basketball.
