If the Hawks win the Championship they'd possibly be the worst team ever to win it all.

How much can I bet on Phoenix to smash the Clippers in the next round? If this ends up with that series and Atlanta on the east side this will be the worst matchup ever in both conference finals. Sure looks more and more like those big centers just can't stay in the playoffs. Gobert couldn't be effective offensive or defensively it looks like by the Clippers playing small. Does it matter at all if Chris Paul misses most of the series with COVID? Probably not but Clippers are looking surprisingly feisty without Kawhi. It's a little bittersweet seeing Atlanta potentially make conference finals this year...I was a huge Atlanta guy last year and thought they'd easily make the playoffs. You pointed out in the betting thread I shouldn't have put down a bunch of money on Atlanta +34 wins. It ended up not mattering last year because Covid voided the bet, but I was definitely a year too early on the Atlanta hype train. my take, Clippers are great at playing small and exploiting a big that the other team can't easily just bench. KP and Rudy are the classic big man that's too important to just bench and I'm the end hurts them. That won't be the case against Phoenix. I thought of you and that discussion when I put money on Atlanta this year on the over and easily covered.

So Kawhi is home rehabbing his knee? ACL not confirmed? Great news for him, but how much more abuse can his body handle?

Bucks are so bad in the playoffs closing out games. They might end up getting to the finals and still should fire their coach.

When I saw Jhrue Holiday completely give up on the Trae Young shimmy 3, it made me wonder...is that bad coaching because he was told to switch and started walking towards the basket prematurely for a defensive rebound, but the other guy Portis didn't switch like he was supposed to and contest the shot? Or has Holiday just developed bad habits from playing on so many losing teams?
If you don't know the play, I see a lot of people calling it the Trae Young shimmy, but it looks to me like more of a shrug. Young crosses up at the 3 point line around a John Collins screen, Holiday rather than fighting through the screen just gives up and starts walking away. Young is left wide open for at least three seconds, sort of shrugs like "seriously? you're not going to guard me?" then nails the 3.

No help at all was given. He got tricked and crossed and literally no one else came to help him. That's bad team defense first and foremost.

Agree with Scully that was bad D-poor communication. The coaches part to play there, if he has the personnel, is nail the player responsible to the end of the bench for the rest of the game. Cover it thoroughly next practice. Playoffs are a different animal and likely an assistant coach meets with him. Brain farts happen, especially with young players.

I thought about this (weird) but I see some Steph Curry before Steph became Steph famous. The shimmy aside, they have a similar demeanor about them and the way they play. But the Bucks just killed it tonight.

The Point God basically snuffed out the Clippers by himself in the second half, culminating in this bitch ass move by Pat Bev: streamable.com/2476yyCP3 didn't even say anything. He just gave him a look:https://streamable.com/uif88v Bev should be suspended a few games into next season for that. Anyways, I'm happy for CP3 and the Suns. Phoenix made the finals, just as everyone predicted. They gotta be the heavy favs if Giannis and Trae are still out by the time the finals starts. Poor Milwaukee fans are likely still stuck with Coach Bud, who will use Giannis' hyperextension as a excuse.

Bringing this thread back up since i screwed up and looked for a playoff thread assuming a 2021 version existed and not reading. Hurray me!
Anyways, everyone is loving CP3 right now, sure seems like he's about to get his max extension and get paid another 3 years. Playoffs couldn't have gone better for the Suns up to this point.

I think this series is a pickem. Id normally give the Bucks the edge base on experience and quality of competition, however the Suns have home court and that offsets any advantage the Bucks might have had. I could see the home team winning every game.

I think the Suns will carry an advantage most of the series just based on mismatch hunting they did throughout and I haven't let go of the fact that Bud is not one they reacts, he got credit for switching defensively for game 4 of the Hawks but that was Trae injured and missing the game too and deserved way more credit that Bud. Bucks struggled to win against the Hawks and the Nets when they really shouldn't have and I just can't believe they manage to win the series of no injury like the Suns.
