Still early days, but both Matt and Terence were unremarkable in their debut with their new teams. I doubt if we see Matt in the NBA past this year. TD has a chance, but his off-court situation neeeds to be cleared up so he can concentrate on the game.

Knew it was going to be bad since it was a non-contact injury. Denver was well poised to make a big postseason run too.

Small news but a bit surprised to see Oshae Brissett just signed a 3 year deal with the Pacers. Small forward born and raised in Toronto who started out with Raptors 905 two years ago and had a cup of coffee with the big club last year and was honestly pretty mediocre. I didn't think he was a legit NBA guy after seeing him play last year but he seems to have impressed the Pacers with his 3 and D ability.

I was surprised by that also! But good to see him secure a nice contract!

RHJ just got a quintuple-single against the Grizzles: 1 point, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block
I might have to redact my previous statements about resigning him

Is Phoenix the biggest surprise this season?

Got to be the Knicks for biggest surprise. Phoenix everyone expected to improve just maybe not this much. Knicks were listed by Vegas over under for the season at like 22 wins and have smashed that.

Whew that Bleacher Report article on Bjorkmans time in Indiana is a sledge hammer piece. It destroys him as a coach and a person. Not even sure he will ever get another assistant job let alone a head coaching job. You don't often see such character assassination. Even some stuff in there about his time as a Raptor that we never heard about. He sounds bipolar to me and that can be bad in a position of power but I still don't like to see it in print. Just fire him and let him fade away. Like we did with Kevin Oneil under similar circumstances.

Kind of like one of those managers at a Mcdonald's or local retail store who started working at 16, got promoted after 20 years and think they're head-honcho now and need to micromanage everything.

Have you guys seen what Oshae is doing for the Pacers? Did the Raps screw the pooch on this guy???

Have you guys seen what Oshae is doing for the Pacers? Did the Raps screw the pooch on this guy??? I thought it was wrong when they let him go. I liked him a lot. Keeping and playing Stanley Johnson this entire season cost us a good look at both Brissett and Watson. This is the first season in a long time where I can conclusively say...mistakes were made. I greatly hope this is just an outlier season and not a precurser of the Bobby Webster era.

I maintain still that DeRozan's biggest playoff weakness was Casey. I think it would be pretty fun if they can bring him back and get him to focus on defense way more in the off season and then all year get trained into smart defense more from Nurse that he would be a pretty good plus for the team. Is that a championship team? No probably not, but could depend further in development of whatever rookie we get this year too.

Oshae sporting a 23/5/2 on 10/14 shooting in the play-in game. Not too shabby.

You aren't going to spot them all, some of that is on the player too. Maybe he "gets" it with another team which is no one's fault.

Watching this Grizz Spurs playing game and I can't say enough about JV. There's always some slight question marks about his mobility and defense both as a Rap and as a Grizzly but he never let us down in the playoffs and he's having a monster game for the Grizz. Maybe JV isnt one of our all time talents but you know what JV has? Heart. More than many former Raptor "greats".

Just like how I remember the Raptor playoffs for all those years ... JV stepping up and beasting. DD, not so much. Poeltl's 10-10 and 5 blocks wasn't too shabby either.

I was really hoping for a Warriors upset. I watched the second half and you can just see that this team is terrible beyond Steph, and offensively that includes Draymond beyond his nice passing every once in a while. They just throw the ball away and can't get anything going when the Lakers stepped up the defense in the second half. It's really crazy that Wiggins can't do more for this team than he does, he was a lead option before and you would think he could just do some of that but with more openness with him being ignored way more and be free to attack the net more, but he just doesn't do that. He's basically just a 3 and D guy for them and they need more than that from him (or be elite 3 which he's not).

I’m happy the Griz look like they’re going to win, despite foul trouble for JV. Utah should be a pretty interesting matchup for them, with Gobert and Jonas going head-to-head.

It's so weird to me that Lakers went out and bothered to get Gasol, they have a perfect matchup against the Suns and Ayton where he can work his magic and shut down a traditional low post C, and instead Gasol doesn't play a single minute and Ayton goes 10 for 11 from the field. Like I'm not surprised necessarily to see Gasol get some DNP-CDs at this stage of his career, particularly if Lakers were going against a team with a small ball C. But isn't this the exact type of matchup you signed him for?

I just listened to the latest Bill Simmons podcast and when he and Ryen talked about what was wrong with the Lakers at center, I don’t think they even mentioned Gasol’a name. It was deeply weird.

Even weirder, Ibaka played only 17 minutes combined the first two losses for the Clippers. 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and 3 blocks, +17. Zubac has been way less effective in 40 minutes combined, 10 points, 9 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 block, -29. It's not like Mavs are some super small ball team and Ibaka would get run off the court.

Seems like a good time to bring Ibaka and Leonard back to Toronto. I'm only half kidding as clearly the clips are in trouble and he very well might want to leave. I don't expect it to happen but it would be funny if it did.

Clippers are actually cursed, eh?
Since the We The North era, seeing other teams play shitty defence is so jarring to see. And boy was there a lot of it in that game. Allowing straight line drives from Luka in crucial moments.... Giving THJ 6+ feet of space on threes.
Kawhi gave up a probable dynasty because he happened to be born in LA.
Carlisle will still coach circles around Ty Lue too. They're in deep trouble.
----
HI, Phoenix! Congrats on making the playoffs, here LeBron James, fresh off a championship. Oh, what's that? You're the 2nd seed and that isn't really fair. Oh, that's just how he be. The King cares not for seedlings and home court advantage. He bides his time. Saves his mana. Ensures everyone gets in healthy. He has complete confidence in himself like that.
Oh.... Oh dear. This season's successful was largely due to replacing your starting point guards with CP3? I mean, that is indeed a huge upgrade. But... He gets injured in the post-season at pretty much when his team needs him most. It's tradition. It's inescapable.
