I'm good. Ive been back to work and was swamped because no one is able to cover for me very well. I do sales, purchasing, and logistics in the power generation industry. Often on high priority products. I've got my workload back under control and have been able to look at websites and post again. As for my illness. I wasn't allowed to go back to work for almost 3 weeks even though I had been healthy after 2 weeks. I must say that getting active helped me improve much faster. Just sitting around made me feel lousy even though the virus was gone. I couldn't tell if I was still sick or not. I occasionally pop a Halls lozenge even now.
I never did get tested and I still cant figure out where I got it. Not one at work has had it and I didn't give it to anyone when I came back. I thought perhaps my car mechanic shop gave it to me because I was there 5 days before I got sick, but I recently checked with them and no one there has been sick. I can only guess that I got it from a Fedex courier or packaging. I guess you can call me an isolation success story because I didn't pass it on. However, because I still feel a little phlegmy even now, I hate this weather. I badly want to get on my bicycle and burn the last of it out of my lungs.

Most people who get it either do not have symptoms or the symptoms are very mild, so you could of got it from someone who didn't even know that they had it.
Great to hear that you are on the mend!!

I'm at the point where if things aren't "mostly" normal for July and August, I'm not gonna care.. I need a pint on a patio by the lake.
I need it!

Out here in BC we are entering "Stage 2" on MAy 19th. Slightly larger gatherings allowed, some businesses reopening. The physio clinics that i work at are going to open, but with a lot of safety measures in place: both patient and therapist must wear gloves and mask, sanitizing everything, etc. Excited to get back to work, but a little nervous because people are starting to become more relaxed about protocols even before this was announced.

Can't believe IRS is still going strong. What a throwback seeing names like Springer, BorisD, and Sandman. Even saw a MangoKid somewhere, that son of a gun. Where are Fenris77 and TheFedExpress at.
Anyways hope everyone is doing well.

So uh.... America is basically on fire. Trump is uniquely unqualified to deal with it. They've been basically driving with the check engine light on since 2008, conservatively speaking. George Floyd was just an excuse. And now with Corona leaving them with Great Depression level unemployment, the last strings of restraint are gone. The reasons for the protests and looting are deep and multi-faceted and would need an honest look at history without the rosy haze of neoliberalism. I think there will be a Tiananmen Square level event with the next two months.
In brighter news, we are apparently looking at NBA returning on July 31st.

I think there will be a Tiananmen Square level event with the next two months. I don't think there will be. But, then, I didn't think there would be a Tiananmen Square event in Beijing in 1989 either. These things can go sideways really quick. This editorial by George Will was really good. But this long article, " History Will Judge the Complicit" by Anne Applebaum was truly excellent. I'm just happy to see that sort of crazy seems to be in decline in Canada these days. Too often, America's insanity spills across the border.

Things starting to open up in NB. No outside travel yet but locals are coming and going. I can see why too as the last 2 infections were brought in from outside the province. We are not only not dying from it (1 elderly resident at a care home) but it seems we are not catching it. We had low numbers from the beginning so perhaps that made it easier to track and isolate. Many were out for Father's Day and this lent some normalcy to this bizarre situation. It has been months since I have seen a crowd that wasn't burning and looting or protesting. No placards, no microphones, no chanting. I highly recommend it.

How we all coping/dealing?

How we all coping/dealing? Korea's been pretty mellow for a while. Just wearing masks when people are around and using more hand sanitizer than usual. Oh, and getting plenty of work-from-home time on the job, which is pretty okay. I just hope things get better enough to relax the travel/quarantine rules between Korea and Canada, so I can visit my folks some time soon.

NB opening up with the rest of the Atlantic provinces but there are still lineups at the borders. We have had a few interlopers from elsewhere making a nuisance of themselves but nothing that has really blown up. My house is underway and I hope to move in next month. No new cases. Russia has a vaccine. I would imagine that Trump being a Russian spy will likely be promoting that to the Americans. Although I'm not sure if there are any people left in Florida as they have had high numbers of deaths and infections. I read that over 50 million people have been infected world wide. I'm sure the Trudeau family as a result of their charity work will be donating money to the effort to show their patriotism and genuine concern for all of us other people.

I'm still hoping that I'm immune despite that they say you can catch it again.
Not loving the mask thing. Sure I can easily deal with wearing it for short periods to go shopping, etc. But to wear it full time at work for 8+ hours doesn't work for me. I'm dubious about the health effects long term from restricted breathing.
Also, it's getting pretty damn boring now that he weather has turned cold and basketball/hockey are basically done. What is one to do in the evening?

They better not still be traveling as this stay at home order kicks in or they should be removed/voted out for it.

I find it astounding that government leaders- mayors, governors, premiers, and prime ministers violate the orders they give to the public. If I'm locking people away in their homes and bankrupting businesses as a government leader I don't know how you resolve defying your own orders. Another issue I have with this whole mess is government deciding what businesses are essential. Sure for a week or 2 I could go with grocery stores and medical services. But long term you keep the country closed the keep us safe strategy could be worse than the effects of the illness. Also with the virus morphing you can't keep up with the vaccines. Despite what we are told vaccines can be dangerous as well. There is a video of a woman in Indiana who reportedly had seizures after her shot. I couldn't find a msm outlet that covered it so I won't bore you with a possible fake news report. There have been numerous reports of people having severe reactions to the vaccine from around the world and that can be found with a short search. Here is one covered by our very own CBC www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/covid-19-vaccine-allergic-reaction-1.5856827So take a vaccine if you prefer but be aware there really is no guarantee of safety and that you might be worse off than catching the virus. I don't know what everyone is hearing across the country regarding how people are affected by the virus. For example of all the reported cases (test positive) how many people are sick? Dallas Stars recently had 17 cases, all players, and none with any symptoms. The report noted that they were recovering and quarantining. If you have no symptoms what are you recovering from? Typically we get numbers infected and numbers of deaths. Nothing on how many are catching it and actually being sick. I prefer a little more information to help me make a decision on risk\reward.

My main issue right now is psychological. I still go to work 9 to 5 because I am in an essential occupation, however I'm finding myself short tempered when I'm generally a pretty relaxed person. Its not covid causing this. There are plenty of factors, but the lockdown and general unsettledness in society caused by covid isn't doing me any good at all.

Still no paid sick days.

Just incompetent leadership from the Ford government, who I'd still say will get re-elected. Ontario's political leadership is somehow effectively even worse than America at the federal level. We're a year into this now -- regardless of whatever you think politically, this shouldn't be happening. People will be worried about the increased police authority, but I think cops, however corrupt they may or may not be, won't enforce stop people except for clearly egregious circumstances. They have enough to deal with already.
Giving people sick days and bumping essential workers way up the vaccine queue would be, you know, actually effective but it goes against the unsaid mandate of class warfare and such.

It truly is baffling how giving people paid sick days - even just 2, would prove to be beneficial (and has been said by many ICU doctors is what we need to do - ICU DOCTORS), yet we'll close down small businesses and ruin the economy. For a man who should be invested in keeping the economy going, Ford seems lost.
Politics have ruined the opportunity to get ahead of this.
