I wasn’t watching Heat-Celtics game 1, but when I did check the score in the third quarter, it looked like the Celtics were going to pull off an easy win.
I just checked the final score just now, and I was surprised! Bubble basketball is weird.

LA's defense has been trash. They ain't closing out on shooters and they are doubling the GOAT passing big.

And they're losing by 10 in the 4th. Crazy.

Oh my goodness this upset is actually going to happen. LA went 0/10 from the field to start the 4th. Denver's lead INCREASED when Jokic was on the bench for like 5 minutes.
The Clippers body language has been AWFUL.

20 up with 2 minutes left. Goodbye. Kawhi goes just as far as the Raptors but without the fight. George closest shot in the 4th was barely touching the front rim, and also had one hit the side of the backboard. Incredible, first team to ever come back from 3 to 1 twice.

Best quote that i've read so far: Kawhi got a Doc, when he needed a Nurse.

From the boxscore both Leonard and George sucked pretty bad. Too bad for both the Raps and Leonard. I did watch the Celtics/Heat game and came away convinced that the Raps could have beaten either team with Leonard.

I'm pretty confident if we had regular season Siakam we would have beat both teams as well. With Leonard i think we are easy favorites to win the title.

Hahahahaha~ Suck balls, Celtics.
So impressed with the Heat this year. Butler really was the ideal match for that team.

The Miami Heat are basically the Toronto Raptors with a competent half court offense, or, if Siakam actually touched a basketball during quarantine. Either way, Boston sure are having trouble dealing with them. I would not want to be down 2-0 to a team like that - basically a sentient and rabid buzzsaw continually coming at you. Spo took a lot of cues from Nurse. The zone the Heat threw out in the 3rd was definitely inspired from him.

A lot more parity this year because of no home court advantage/travel, and the teams just being a little worse this season. In fact I think last years, Bucks, Sixers and of course the Raps were all better than any team in the east this season.

The Raptors had a legitimate chance to repeat. Siakam was a big part of that not happening. He played all star all season. But like many players when it came down to the bottom line could not produce. Lowry experienced that along with DeRozen. He grew and was a much more effective player. That is rare as only champions experience that. Could be a while before we see that again. MU has shown he is not infallible unfortunately. He's a smart guy. It will be interesting to see what his next step will be.

The two teams that played the least playoff games advance to the finals. Sometimes I think the toughness of your payoff run is the biggest single factor in winning a title. Every time you have a hard lengthy series it increases your chances of losing the next one. The Lakers have had smooth sailing despite the fact that I'm not that impressed with their team.

Honestly, I hope the Heat win.
I can't stand Lebron and co. continuously teaming up and winning.
Besides that 1 or 2 Cavs teams, Lebron, for how amazing he is, cannot and has not shown he can do it without another all-star or two or three.

Most can't really though, the only other teams that won without doing that were teams that were good everywhere, something that is very difficult to build when you have 1 person taking up so much of your salary cap.
In other news, Doc Rivers was now fired making this bubble the worst place for coaches to go. Hard to argue with the move as they have no time to waste and Doc hasn't exactly shown himself to be a great playoffs coach; worst game 7 record, only person to have more than 1 blown 3-1 lead in a series and he has 3. I don't know what they have exactly around the league to get them a top tier coach though. I wish Kawhi all the best but I wish the Clippers all the worst.
Anyone want Kawhi back in 2021 if we don't get Giannis? I wonder about his knee/hip/leg and how well it will hold up over time if he were to get a 4 or 5 year deal with the Raptors starting at 30 years old. Really doesn't seem like he is going to have a long career and he will cost a lot with the 10 year veteran max at 30% of cap. Reality is i don't expect him to even consider it as he mostly wants to play at home but it's food for thought.

With Siakam and Anunoby on hand, forward is kind of a low priority for the Raps. I'd say we have an almost critical need to get another PG and C in the pipeline. Not just a body either, someone with a chance to develop into a major contributor. What Terence Davis and Boucher become is going to have a big impact on the direction the Raps go over the next few seasons.

I actually hope LeBron wins it all this year. Three championships and nine finals appearances is okay, but 4-10 would better reflect on just how awesome he’s been. Clearly one of the top 3 players ever.
And then becoming 4-11 after losing to the Raptors in 2021 would be perfect.

I need to believe in myself like Marcus Smart believes in Marcus Smart. Dude took 22 shots in an elimination game LMAO. That was more than Hayward, Walker & Brown.

Lakers deserved it. They won an easy championship. I put it on the rest of the league for not putting up a good fight. At least 5 teams should be thinking about what could have been. Though I do believe the Raps maybe should have reached the finals, I think we needed Leonard to repeat.

After everything a team goes through to win a championship they deserve it. I was really more on the point that the Raptors going by season play and being current champions had the opportunity this year. Players who had stepped up either didn't or never saw the floor in Nurse's shortened bench. Sure Leonard the one who played last year would have helped but I thought this team could win with what they had. I thought Gasol had deteriorated as well which hurt. Ibaka played better but was not enough by himself. Siakam is a whole thing by itself. Three players who had their moments but were not consistent offensively really hurt. I'm sure we can all name them.
