Not sure how this works politically. The players are basically denying their team owners revenue. Politically it will have a negligible impact if the politicians ignore it. It then just becomes a minor money loss for a whole bunch of millionaires and billionaires.
If the owners are unable to get any results politically, it will lead to a confrontation between players and owners over revenue and likely a lockout. The collective bargaining agreement will have been broken by the players and possibly end up in the courts.
I'm not entirely certain this has been thought out too deeply in a strategic/legal sense.

Ya I agree, and it seems like they are largely looking for more involvement from the owners who a lot of then have the clout to actually do something and it's rather amazing how few have actually contributed considering they've made like a billion dollars because of mostly black players.
I tried googling it and could only find one instance which was that NBA foundation to donate 300 million over the next 10 years. That's obviously not nothing, but it doesn't seem like any owner has done anything individually besides an agreement to each give 1 million a year for 10 years.

Does negotiating for social and political change using billionaires as the mediating force sound like a good thing? I'm not saying that I see another way, but something about it makes me slightly uneasy.

Bad thing obviously, but this has long been how the States are run. Billionaires set the policies and convince the lower class to support it.

Bad thing obviously, but this has long been how the States are run. Billionaires set the policies and convince the lower class to support it. Destruction of the middle class is playing a part in all of this. Typically professionals, small business owners, skilled workers belong to this class. Collectively they are the spine of the economy. The middle class served as a buffer between the haves and the have nots. Rich privileged people have nothing in common with those in extreme poverty. Thus freewheel's concern re: billionaires fixing social injustice.

Sounds like Lebron James rubbed people the wrong way in their meeting about this whole situation.
Not surprised, I have a feeling that James and a few other players may have wanted to "stop" play just to escape the bubble.
Sounds like Jaylen Brown made the right call - how many of these guys are actually going to leave the bubble and go in the thick of it and protest alongside the hundreds/thousands of others? Or are they just going to sit at home and make some instagram posts.

That was apparently Iggy's argument, said if the plan is to stop then everyone has to go join the protest and be out there. Otherwise there's no point.
What did LeBron do besides vote to leave and walk out?

Damn, Jamal Murray scoring more points over a three-game playoff stretch than anyone in NBA history not named "Michael Jordan" or "Jerry West." Currently sporting a 36.8 PER!

Like it said before I wanted Miami to play the Bucks as they have a good matchup and just won game 1. Now we need to get through the Celtics.

The Bucks are down 3 and in danger of being swept. What? Miami had 5 players double digits. I thought they would challenge the Bucks but not sweep them. The east is no picnic this year.

People can talk about surrounding Giannis with the right supporting cast, but he seriously needs to stop looking like vintage Shaq at the FT line if he wants to win a title. It wasn't necessarily why they lost this one but it was a huge part of the first two losses

After OG hit that glorious game winner. That Doctor Strange kind of game winner that has a man going through more than a million scenario and finding that shot as the sole successful scenario? I thought, "You know, that was nice. I ain't even mad at myself for turning the TV off. You know what would really warm my heart? The Bucks losing and going down 3-0."
GIANNIS REACH

Giannis is a player flirting with being unstoppable to a degree that would be unheard of if he got his shooting up...and let's be clear that needs a restructure in form not just practice. If he took the time to do that the Bucks wouldn't be losing this, without a doubt. The defense would have to pick him up earlier at the 3 that he can drive and do what he does now, or he can smash open 3s and kill them until they do. FTs up to 80% would also really solve any plan of wrapping him up when in doubt.
That being said i would be ordering a Giannis jersey first day if he joined the Raps.
Let's not forget coach Bud in this. I wasn't all that scared of the Bucks this year and it was mainly because of him. His lack of originality in the playoffs has got him swept being the better team multiple times now, including 1 Canadian sweep. He's an all-time great regular season coach but he is getting roasted by teams and coaches who can like the Raps and Heat.

TheRinger blog does a great breakdown in their blog:
Remember when he was our rumoured #1 choice? Well that was close... First question to Giannis in the video, Could you play more...yep.

Meanwhile, Lowry with 46 minutes played, OG with 45, FVV with 41.

Honestly, Butler might need to enter "top 5 (3?) in the league" conversation if he and Miami keeps this up.

Meanwhile, Lowry with 46 minutes played, OG with 45, FVV with 41. and Lowry (who is about 10 years older than Giannis) is probably pissed off that he had to sit for 2 minutes.
And OG with 45 and still having enough ice in his veins to hit that shot!!!!!

The other 3 coaches are in my opinion probably some of the best in the entire league, not just the ECF. With Giannis and most of our current core and Nurse coaching, we would be a dynasty.

Giannis appears to be on his way to getting swept out of the playoffs and he only played 11 minutes due to an ankle injury. Anyone else think Giannis might be having a lot of injuries in the year ahead? What’s the over/under on the word “disgruntled” appearing beside his name in stories next season?

Giannis goes out and the bucks manage to extend the series. Didn't see that one coming. Good news for our side of the bracket, extra games are good.

Quietly puts broom away. Good effort from the Bucks without the Greek Freak. Ewing Theory in effect. Has to be hard for Miami to adjust psychologically and really ramp up after he turned his ankle. The game plan centered around him and with him gone it changed everything. Although Giannis played well in those 11 minutes. Middleton had a very gutsy effort. If he were that aggressive the entire series, the series would probably at least be tied....so more poor coaching from Bud.
But the Heat should be easily be able to take game 5 after gathering themselves and adjusting. I mean, could you imagine out of all the teams to screw up a 3-0 lead, it would be a team with a top 3 coach lead by basketball psychopath, Jimmy Butler? Weirder things have literally happened and are happening now...but come on.

Michael Porter Jr, after the loss in game 4, thinks he should be getting more touches and be more involved if their going to win. Absolute garbage defender who thinks he can lead to winning, good luck.

Its unfortunate for Denver that Millsap suddenly got old on them and sucks. He was the guy who was supposed to be that veteran leader. He'd keep a kid like that in line. However its tough to get respect from a young talent when you basically don't belong in the NBA anymore.

Man the Rockets have given up. The last two games have been embarrassing. Sure, I hate the Rockets style and am happy to see them lose, but Im still surprised. I thought they had a real shot against the Lakers. The Lakers haven't impressed me much. It shouldn't have been this easy.
