I felt like when it was first announced, the new All-Star game format was described in a really confusing way. But I like the idea now of having a fixed score to hit for the winner, rather than just running time out. The players really seem to care more, super entertaining game. It's crazy watching Joel Embiid just dripping sweat, working harder than I ever saw him work in a playoff game. Guys are going hard, arguing over fouls, diving for loose balls. Really enjoying Lowry playing clutch minutes in such a close game. The thing I enjoy most about hitting a score target, vs. time just running out, is you can't do the foul to extend a game strategy. Every point counts so you can't just put the other guy on the line and hope you extend the game. I feel like NBA must have been paying attention to Big3 for this idea. How long until they add 4 point shots too in the All-Star game?
Edit: I can't believe Lowry drew a charge in an All-Star game. What a boss.

Rockets just signed DeMarre Carroll and Jeff Green. Glad to see them load up on a couple extra Cs for the playoffs.

Hilarious story we haven't mentioned here, the horrible hiring of Beeline in Cleveland is over as he walked away from millions because he was having such a terrible year he was unhappy.
There is an article in The Athletic that breaks it down and it is brutal. Apparently the players were already out and tuning him out in training camp, like the whole team was out. One hilarious turn of events after that "thug" controversy where beeline came back later and said he meant "slugs" (which is of course bullshit and a terrible lie at that), the players didn't believe him after it because of course not, so they started going around and opening listening to music that referenced thugs, including on the team bus with Beeline 2 ft away. Then they get Drummond and IMMEDIATELY he says this place is a disaster, way worse than Detroit (let that sink in) and if there isn't changes there's zero chance he stays.
I know LeBron got a lot of credit for how bad this team is after he left because he took all the talent away and was holding them up to 40 wins higher alone, but the reality is this management is absolutely brutal and shows no sign of improvement. It's funny to see owners who got so rich from making good choices so they think all their choices are great and they tank their franchise.

There's a sickening trend in the NBA where star players have too much sway in the business side of things.
It's a sense of entitlement that is becoming an issue.

Seeing all the "redrafting" each NBA draft columns, and noticed that Derozen and Danny Green were drafted in the same year. This really surprised me, as i thought that Greene was much older than Demar. I guess winning championships and leadership really ages a person.

I went to grade 7 and 8 in Brampton with the new Bulls GM, Marc Eversley. I've known he was in the NBA circle for years but never thought he'd get a GM job. I spent a lot of time with him and some buddies playing foot hockey on the school tennis courts. GM of the Bulls is a long way from foot hockey. Anyway, I hope he does well, though I have to say that most of his time was spent under the tutelage of Brian Colangelo. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for winning.

Just rewatching the whole playoff run the past few days, I'm on game 6 right now against Milwaukee and wow was this series so amazing to watch. I can't get over that comeback and just how close they came multiple times, 2OT obviously had a ton of close calls, game 5 in Milwaukee was unreal to steal that game. Game 6 now and this is the most incredible game of basketball i remember ever watching, should be fun.

Couldn't really find a thread about this guy except as part of the "trade". I was looking at the box score from the game SA vs Sac. I had a look at DeRozen's line. The guy is still a horse and it looks like he is making some plays with 10 asts.
MIN FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS D. DeRozan SF 38 10-13 0-0 7-9 1 4 5 10 0 0 4 4 +7 27

Every matchup is decided now for the playoffs except for the play-in tournament deciding 8th. So only 4 teams with anything to play for out of 22. Going to be a lot of resting/garbage time coming up.

I heard someone mention Udonis Haslem was still on the Heat and I thought they were joking. He's out there playing heavy minutes at 40 for the Heat in the last meaningless game of the season.

I don't know what the deal is with the bubble or the rules of the game, but the requirements for a tech are getting to the point of stupid. 2 games last night had techs that were pointless and stupid and not at all worthy, and one of them resulted in Kristaps being ejected and changed the game and maybe the series because of it.
Al Horford tech - of which Jaylen is clearly diving and being dramatic and this is obvious using the same slow motion the refs are watching, but they call it anyways. This cost the 76ers 2 extra points and in a game that was battling at 3pts difference late, would have been 1 point. How the offense attacks that is entirely different.
Kristaps ejected in which nothing happened...like nothing. Actually ended with a double tech too. How do you kick someone out for this?
Post game, when asked if he thought KP should have been ejected Doc Rivers replies "Of course not", because of course.

Anybody else watching the Bucks vs Magic? Orlando came to play today and is outplaying the Bucks. Currently up 8, were up something around 16 at one point. Bucks came out charging after half but Orlando called a timeout and regrouped. They actually look good so far (or is Bucks bad?), bad shooting for Bucks so far.
Magic up 11 and Bucks pull Giannis with 3min left in 3rd because they have their strict timings.
Magic ended up winning the quarter after a run by the Bucks and are now down 13 going into the 4th...WTF is going on here?
10 down with 3:25 left...

Magic outplayed the Bucks the whole game (that i saw), Vuc isn't a problem for us but he has been big time for the Bucks. That and wing 3's. Incredible. Really adding a lot to the idea of the Bucks struggling in the bubble.

They want to stop Vuc they have to play Ilyasova and Robin Lopez. Marvin Williams blows and is a career loser. Brook Lopez is out there for offense and spacing. He's useless if he scores less than 10 points. Coaching error.

Personally i don't think they even change much for next game, Bud doesn't do that and you could chalk it up to bad shooting for one game and not over react. But when you see Bledsoe and Giannis dribble the ball up and shoot from 3 without involving any play and without hesitation then something is seriously wrong. I think they each had 2 while down 10 in the 4th. 4 wasted possessions on what can only be described as hero ball.

Any extra L's on the Bucks is good.
I'm still believing in the Giannis to the Raps dream.

Any extra L's on the Bucks is good. I'm still believing in the Giannis to the Raps dream. Me too. Before they played today I was looking up the bucks main guys, all of which are quite a bit older than Giannis. Kris is 29, Bledsoe is 30, Brook is 32. This might be as good as it gets for this team at this point. Giannis at 25 could easily slot into our lineup and they would be roughly the same age of 25. Siakam, Norm, OG, FVV would all fit for the team of the future for years.

Well guys if the players walk out and it looks like they have what are we to take from that? I have to say that as unlikely as it was to rekindle the season and then blow the tires off of it is not a wise move. You can hear the conversation now: team A plays team B next Friday at 8:00 PM, maybe. How likely are you to set that time aside to watch a maybe?
