With lots of talk surrounding how broken the ASG is.. does this lead into a change?
I mean most ASG's are boring and lack any intensity. No player goes out there to try and work hard and get injured.
Do they hold it at the end of a season? Do they tie this into some sort of competitive mode?
I'd argue this ASG blunder is more indicative of the entire NBA culture now than anything. Lack of D, lack of "grind" by players who need "rest."
The NBA is truly becoming one of the softest leagues out there..

They just need to do what baseball did, whoever wins, that conference gets home court regardless of record in the finals. Or some sort of bonus for it where it counts as 2 wins or something.
I honestly don't know who this is for, I don't ever turn it on except for Toronto's. I watched Elam ending as well, but just that quarter and it was Lowry that saved the whole thing. Otherwise it's just boring. Do people want to watch them chuck it from as far as possible in a practice?
Funny seeing Adam Silver at the presentation and not say "you won" but "you scored the most". No way he's happy with how it went.

I like this. 2-3 wins for the winning conference, and trust that enough of the All-Stars on each team have ambitions to play in the Finals that they drive the overall game and make it competitive. Also, remote electro-shock bracelets controlled by Adam Silver. If he doesn't like the effort anyone is putting in — *zap*!!

Or the very simpler thing is to follow the IST model because apparently paying the players works too for winning.

The all star game has no hope. It doesn't work in any of the big team sports. There is no reason for the players to try and no incentive is big enough to make them care. Its become an insider party weekend for team execs, players, family, and agents, and thats fine. As an outsider I don't watch and I'm not even slightly interested.

Its become an insider party weekend for team execs, players, family, and agents Yeah, basically this. The All-Star game feels a lot like the old Inside Stuff NBA show ... something made for a different time and kind of hokey now. Mostly, it annoys me because it means there's nothing to watch for 10 or 12 days or whatever. If they got ride of the All-Star weekend, they'd be able to get ride of 4 or 5 back-to-backs during the season, which would probably do more to protect the players' health than having a big break.
