Interesting question heard on the radio.
Do you enjoy today's version of the game?
The higher scoring output games compared to 10-15 years ago?
Or, do you prefer the older version of it? The slower, more defensive minded game?
I'm sorta torn here. It is more exciting. Certainly the Raps are more exciting after these trades.
Yet... it becomes a bit of a joke with the lack of defending and ease of baskets nowadays. It's just a game of who can score better.
My other gripe is the absolute BORE of the last few minutes or fouling, timeouts, etc. If the games supposed to be quick, let's reduce the amount of timeouts and opportunities to foul.

I'm in the middle but that's mostly because of flopping which is ruining basketball for me.

Traveling is bothering me more and more. Three step drives are commonplace now.
I miss the postup game of the 80s and 90s. It's essentially vanished. Siakam came into the league with a nice array of back to the basket moves and he's pretty much given up on that.

Let's not forget the step back where they do 2 steps and it somehow isn't traveling. Made famous by Harden but I've seen other guys do it recently like Trae.

That's another big thing. We're trying to teach kids to play the game and yet they see these stars do these moves and it's... such a contradiction.
Maybe that's the other problem, the stars seem to hold way too much power.

Ya good point, add that to my list, star treatment is mental. They are already the best players they don't need further advantage. A foul is a foul no matter who it is against.
