Man, if the Raptors lose to the Grizzlies without Bane ... Then we know they're really serious about tanking.
Toronto down 30-25 after 1 quarter.

Only catching the 2nd half... Lots of lay-up misses.
I like Thad Young though. Decent depth piece. Maybe some value to a contender?

This was a hard fought loss. The odds of them keeping their pick have now gone up quite a bit. They've been rather horrid without Yak

I still think it will be nearly impossible to get into the top 6 but if that is the goal then losing to the Grizzlies at home is a step in that direction.

I still think it will be nearly impossible to get into the top 6 but if that is the goal then losing to the Grizzlies at home is a step in that direction. Yeah even if we finish with 6th worse record we'd have slightly less than 50/50 shot of being in the top 6 picks: www.tankathon.com/pick_oddsBreaks down to roughly 9% shot at each of the 1, 2, 3, 4, or 6 slots (45% ish chance of top 6 pick). 30% chance of finishing 7th, 20% chance of finishing 8th, very small percentage 9th or 10th. 5th worse record would have roughly 65% shot at a top 6 pick, 4th worse record would have 81% chance. We're four wins ahead of Portland for 5th worse record and six wins ahead of Charlotte for 4th worst so that would take some capital-T Tanking to catch up with either of those teams.

Ya it'll be really interesting how it goes now. I imagine getting to 5th is too far and that either of Portland or Charlotte won't catch enough fire, especially since it looks like Charlotte is going to join the selling parade. Who else and how quick do the Raptors sell is the next question for the tank management. Brown/Schroder would be the biggest impact moves, with GTJ and Boucher less impact but likely to be traded. Then there's Poeltl who almost seems unlikely but it isn't impossible and some speculation/theorizing around moving him back to the Spurs for loosened draft restrictions would be interesting. Let's say it's the exact same draft but instead of top 6 protected for 3 years before being 2 2nds in 26, it becomes lottery protected, or even top 10. They can then safely get a top pick this year and then not risk losing it next year in a much better draft.
Portland might be the only chance, but then they also have a history of capital-T tanking where they not only load their team up of G-league players, but they don't ever even pick the best G-league players.
Way outside chance, but the Spurs might be able to win some games too, they have been playing better lately with Wemby at C and a real PG.
