Looking for bad deals here that we can question.
I'll start, sounds like Nikola Vucevic is getting 3 years 20 million to come back to the Bulls. I don't think they should have him at all, I don't think he's worth 20 million this year as he's already declining and shoots worse than you think he does. 20 million next year and the year after especially is terrible.
At least we're not the Bulls running it back... Even if they beat us lol.

Cam Johnson, 4 for 108. Dude has like 4 good scoring games and made bank. Doesn't do anything else.

Jeremi Grant, 5 years 160. Portland should have just traded Dame and avoided being in the super leveraged position he's put them in. Grant wouldn't get anything close to this without Dame threats.

Good for Fred, but that contract belongs here. Massive over pay. You can see the training for Houston, they have to spend a minimum amount and their whole team is on rookie deals so they want veteran leadership of which there isn't much to choose from, but still. 43.3 million a year for Fred for 3 years. Wow.

Rui Hachimura, 51 for 3 is terrible. He had a few good playoff games, hit some wide open shots but that doesn't mean he'll keep doing that with any consistency.

I don't think it's a terrible contract but it's not great. He's a 3 and D tweener who hasn't hit the 3 consistently enough, but if that part of his game settles down he's fine and just young enough that teams can trick themselves into thinking he's got higher potential. It's definitely not as bad as the Rockets giving Dillon Brooks 4 years 80 million. Rockets are handing out bad contracts like they lost a bet

Rockets are handing out bad contracts like they lost a bet he was a minimum contract at best until he had a few good games. How he is getting paid based on being able to do what he did there for the whole year. Color me skeptical that will happen.

The only good thing about eh Vucevic contract is that it probably solidified the range for the Poeltl contract. That money for Vuc for the Bulls is bad in any light though.

The Grant contract is so weird because, once Portland drafted Scoot instead of trading that pick, it should've been clear they're not contending now and need to retool for the future. But instead they're overpaying Grant who will likely be a role player with an albatross contract as he gets into his 30s, when their young core will all potentially be looking for contract extensions. Signing Grant long term keeps them in treadmill territory where they're probably not good enough to make playoffs but potentially just good enough to hurt their draft position, while taking developmental minutes away from their young guys like Sharpe.
